Kirk Dewayne Franklin, a musician who is 52 years old, was born to father Dwight on January 26, 1970, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. Kirk was born to adolescent parents, and after his mother abandoned him at the age of three, he was raised by his aunt Gertrude.

His aunt Gertrude worked recycling aluminium cans to help pay for his education. Kirk’s aunt offered him money to take piano lessons when he was just 4 years old.
