Johnny Dang was born in Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam, on November 21, 1974. With his four siblings, he grew up in a rural village in the central Vietnam highlands. His father was an American-aligned soldier in Vietnam during the conflict.
In 1987, his father fled by boat to America in quest of a better life. Then, he and Johnny moved to Texas, where they opened a tiny jewelry store. In 1996, Johnny’s entire family migrated from Vietnam to Texas where they started treating their jewelry company more seriously.
