Bubba Sparxxx was born on March 6, 1977, in La Grange, Georgia, a small town in the heart of the Deep South. His mother June Matthis was a cashier at the grocery store, while his father Jimmy Matthis had previously driven school buses. When Bubba relocated to Then, Georgia in 1996 and teamed up with OBby Tamps, he received his first significant break. After a University of Georgia football game, Tamp was impressed by Bubba’s rapping and later introduced him to Atlanta producer Shannon Houchins.
